CWM for Micromax A74 [MTK Droid Tools Method]

As I can guess, you are here because the MobileUncleTools method didn't work for you.

You can still get CWM on your phone but with this method you need to do a lot of work. Follow the steps below to get CWM on your device.

Requirements :

- A ROOTED Micromax A74.
- Micromax A74 drivers installed on your Windows Computer.
- Download MTK Droid Tools
- USB Debugging Mode Enabled in your phone


If you confirm the completion of above requirements then move ahead.

1. Extract MTK Droid Tools. And Run MTK DROID TOOLS.exe as an administrator(if you are on Windows 7 or above).
   
2. Now I again assume that you have : USB Debugging Enabled, Root Access enabled on your phone and Micromax A74 drivers installed in your Computer.
   
3. Connect your phone to the computer using a USB cable.
   
4. MTK Droid Tools will recognise your device. And you will be able to see a ROOT button at the bottom.
   
   
   
5. Click on the ROOT button, it will do some housekeeping stuff like installing BusyBox etc. You will see popups on your Micromax A74 for allowing root access to ADB.
   
6. When the process is finished successfully you will get a Green rectangle on the bottom left of MTK DROID Tools.
   
7. Now click on the tab 'root, backup, recovery' and select 'to use boot from phone' then click on 'recovery and boot' button. In the dialogue box "To make CWM recovery automatically". Hit YES.
   
   
   
8. The tool will then create recovery for your phone, you will see some Log messages on the right hand side. After it is finished compiling the recovery another dialogue box will appear. "Install created recovery to phone" . Hit Yes.
   
   
   
   
9. The tool will ask you to boot in recovery, click Yes and the phone will boot in recovery.
